Fairytale Themes: Cinderella

Our Disneymooner Member and Pixie, Katie, wanted to share her Cinderella Theme for her Disney Wedding:

I always knew that I was a princess. And I always knew that I would have my wedding at Disney. So of course, once I was engaged and everyone was on board with a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding, it was decided that the theme would be Cinderella, but not the character, the aspects of the story instead. We would focus on the slipper and the coach, and focus we did.

Even before our wedding even started, we had our theme in place at my bridal shower, we, of course, needed a coach cake

For the wedding, we started with our locations at Disney, The American Adventure Rotunda…there is no place that looks more like the castle ballroom in the world, no place else in the world that I could imagine floating across the floor dancing with my own prince charming, my new husband.

And of course, we needed to add Cinderella’s Coach… there was never any question there…

But it’s the little things that really make a theme…

We chose Cinderella coaches as our centerpieces and used them as ceremony decorations as well

And made little slippers on pillows to put in the middle instead of floral

We had the slipper sorbet

We tried to think of every little area that we could tie into the theme and in the end, I truly felt like Cinderella and I did marry my Prince Charming 😉 You can too! If you are a Disney Bride and would like to read my full recaps of my wedding day, join the Forums!

Trends We Love: Feathers

Feathers have been seen at weddings a lot over the past year and they seem to be gaining momentum as we head into summer. From ostrich to peacock the feathers are making a statement down the aisle this year.

We’ve seen them in bride’s hair, used an accent piece or in lieu of a traditional headpiece of veil.

We’ve seen them infused into bouquets to add texture and a sense of fantasy.

The groomsmen have even been seen getting in on the feather accents as bouts.

Centerpieces are also a great place to add feathers to.  This centerpiece is just feathers!

And my favorite are these incredible edible peacock feather toppers for wedding cupcakes. Couples could even buy these to place on their wedding cake.

Where else have you seen feathers used in a wedding?

Have any of our followers used or planning on using feathers on their wedding day?  We’d love to hear about it on our forums!

Trends We Love: Ombre

From the french word meaning “shading” or “gradient”. And it is a hot trend right now. We can’t say we blame them. It’s a fabulous way to bring lots of color to a wedding.

Starting with the most important part of a wedding… the dress! As usual, singer Gwen Stefani was years ahead of this trend when she wore this gorgeous gown at her wedding.

Now there are many different ombre gown options for brides going the flashy route.

Finish off the look, or maybe you’d like to simply dress up a classic wedding gown, with a bright ombre bouquet.

Imagine your reception filled with these colorful centerpieces. The combination of colors are sure to bring life to any venue you choose.

Not to mention, the sweet guest of honor.

And of course, you must start the theme rolling with an amazing custom wedding invitation.
