LeJeune Artistry Review

This review was written by one of our forum members.

How a girl looks on her wedding day is easily as important to any bride as the food or even the groom! For me, looking my best was about hiring a team of professionals.  There was no other choice in my mind than to hire LeJeune Artistry.  In fact, they were the first vendor I booked for my wedding.  I contact her about eight months out.  Her husband, Randy got back to me within 24 hours with my contract, I sent in my 100.00 deposit and I was thrilled.  But honestly, this was the last time I gave any thought to my hair or make up until it came time for my trial.  If you are able to, I encourage every bride to do a hair and make-up trial.  It was so helpful in getting Patricia and I on the same page for my vision.

Speaking of that vision, brides today have the greatest tool ever for finding hair and make-up inspiration.   Pinterest!! I could not believe how easy it was to find the exact look.  I created a style board of hair styles I liked, the make-up looks I liked and it was so helpful.  I did not find a photo of exactly what I wanted.  But I found a front hairstyle I liked and a back that I liked.

Armed with my style board, I went to my trial. Patricia commended me for selecting styles that would work with my hair type.  Ladies-this is key, be realistic in your vision of your wedding and play to your natural features.  If you have fine pin straight hair, know that no amount of hairspray or styling is going to give you a headful of romantic ringlets.  Same goes for make-up, you may love a smoky charcoal eye.  But for some girls, you may have to look to other colors to achieve a look that is flattering to your coloring.  Understand that your vision is a “rough draft”.

Patricia set my hair, then went to work on my make up.  She did a dramatic side and a soft side.  For my 7:00pm wedding, I was all about the drama.  It was great to see both and know which look fit best.  Another reason I was glad I did the trial.  I wanted a “high” front, just like the picture.  Patricia did exactly like the picture and I looked like I was ready to walk on to the set of Jersey Shore. NOT the look I was going for. So Patricia tweaked my look, took her own photos of me, and within 90 minutes. I knew my wedding look.  This trial made for a seamless wedding day.  We both knew exactly how I wanted to look.

I hope all brides will have the chance to work with Patricia and her team at LeJeune Artistry.  But if not, follow my tips and you too will be the bride you dreamed you’d be on your wedding day.

DFTW can make dreams into…..cakes!!

Two years before our wedding,  I sat one night and watched a tv special on Disney Fairytale Weddings.  I was so excited for my own wedding that I was glued to the screen and I loved every detail.

As the show came to a close , I saw the most amazing cake I had ever seen and I knew I needed it.  In that moment,  I grabbed my sketchbook and literally drew the cake I saw.  It had silver Mickey heads stamped all over it and had a white chocolate castle on top.

That was my cake.

Flash forward, two years later,  we are in the midst of planning our dream Disney Fairytale Wedding. It was time to plan the cake…my favorite part.

My planner sat there across from me and asked: ” Any thoughts on a cake?”

I pulled out the sketch I had made four years prior and said this one.  I need this cake.

She responded “Ahh the Mickey Wave cake is very popular. That can be done.”

Of course we made a few adjustments to make it a bit more us, but in the end the cake was exactly as I dreamed of and envisioned.

We added a touch of color to the cake and made the ribbon match out wedding colors and adding a touch of blue to the castle turrets. My favorite Disney touch was the addition of some hidden character stamps…Donal made an appearance as did Tinkerbell herself. I loved this because our flower girls dressed as Tinkerbell.

I remember walking into the Living Seas and I couldn’t stop looking at the cake…….they had made my dream come true.

A Disney Bride’s Favorite Moment: Vanessa

A favorite moment shared by Disneymooner Vanessa who was married at Epcot’s America Adventure Rotunda.

We were married in the AAR, so had photos around the World Showcase with our wedding party right after the ceremony. Our planner soon took them away to the reception and Randy took Kris and I to Italy and Germany for a few last shots before they made us leave! I remember Kris and I walking together having those first moments alone as a married couple and I remember us both saying how we couldn’t believe that the wedding was actually here and that it all came together. We were also relieved to have it over (in a good way!) I need to upload this picture!

Walking through Epcot to our dessert party with our guests was one of my favorite times during the day. We even got Photopass people to take our pictures (which I don’t think is supposed to happen.) Here is one of the photos from walking through Epcot:

Finally, at our dessert party where one of our groomsmen’s little girls wanted to come get her picture with me because she thought I was Cinderella. (We didn’t have kids under 12 at our ceremony or reception, so this was the first time during the day that she had gotten to see me in my wedding dress.)

What a wonderful memory – thank you for sharing Vanessa! If you would like to read more Favorite Moments by Disneymooner Brides please go to our forums.

Magic Kingdom Bridal Photo Session – 8/14/11

We woke up (ok, so I didn’t really sleep the night before the wedding) at about 4am to meet make-up artist and hair stylist.  Originally we wanted to do photo sessions in two parks, but we were told that we wouldn’t have had enough time since I had a 10am wedding at the Wedding Pavilion.  I got a call from Trent, who was assisting the photographer Ty that morning who said that he was on his way to pick us up from the Grand Floridian.  It was great because Madison got to come with us and she was very excited.  Apparently, she was the first child in a Bridal Photo Session, and it’s something they typically don’t do.  It was very cool to see all the things that you don’t normally pay attention to when the parks are open and we were the only people in the park at that time in the morning and we didn’t see anyone else until we were getting ready to leave.

Madison even had a little photo session for herself.  And Ty was great because he could see when Madison was getting cranky and he always found a way to make her smile!  He really helped everyone feel really comfortable and relaxed.

Then we went down to the side of the Castle… I really loved how the Castle turned different colors and I have different ones in different pictures.

Then we headed around the back of the Castle for pictures on the Carousel

Also the Sword and the Stone, on the stairs on the back of the Castle, then inside the Castle… this was my favorite part…

It was a fantastic experience and I am so glad we did it!!  It really was magical.

Thank you Lianne for sharing that experience, if you would also like to share your photos of your Disney Fairytale Wedding-Magic Kingdom Shoot please contact yourfairytalewedding@disneymooner.com
